While I'm still in the land of SSH-in-my-pocket, I'm going to blog heavily, setting expectations way too high for the remainder of the trip.

An early morning departure from Seattle; we were all double-wide awake in the car-ride there. I checked in at the first class podium (for a coach seat). During weigh-in, I slung my carry-on on the scale to confirm that it's actually heavier than my checked bag (each around 20lbs).

Turned out to be training day at the security line, fantastic. Made the flight fine and fell asleep for 40 minutes, waking just in time for the movie announcement.

The perfect in-flight movie is a probably-mediocre, visually-unimportant flick that you kind of wanted to see months ago but missed. Mine was ideal: Evan Almighty, which made it onto that list only the night before in a trailer for a The Office DVD.

My seatmate bought a terrible looking bagel sandwich for $5, and I congratulated myself again on spending $3 for a box of those oats and honey granola bars.

I pulled out my laptop, only to discoer the battery was only at 30%- I didn't let it charge very long last night after watching TV unplugged. Instead I went through the GOOD magazine that was only suposed to be for takeoff and landing.

Charged up my laptop in NYC, and traded in my poker winnings from last night for Euros.

That means it's time to say goodbye to my always-connected Sidekick lifestyle, so no need to worry I'll blog this much every day.
