Transylvania- Dracula- Castles- yes, the real attraction of Romania.
We convinced the Canadian artist to travel with us for a couple of days, and caught a train to Brasov, in Transylvania.
Arriving in the evening, we decided we'd explore briefly, then grab dinner.
Walking around, we cam across a musical performance in an Orthodox Jewish Temple. Popping yarmulkes on (after a reminder), we sat in the back for the last song and a half. The variety of religious experiences on this trip is crazy.
Brasov is a
tiny town, that is admittedly toursity
(it has a Hollywood-style Brasov sign), but not in an annoying way.
Dinner was another Italian restaurant- this one rather delicious.
Afterwards we decided to head to a highly-recommended Scottish pub, and sampled some of the local strong drinks (56% alcohol in one case), before switching to beer. I grabbed a tea, since I lost my voice.
At the pub we ran into two Australians who we had met on the
Parliament tour in Bucharest. We talked and drank for a few hours,
then wandered back through the small cobbled streets to our
hostel and hit the hay.
It was a day where I mostly took
a break from photography
