Boy, that was an incoherent post this morning... er, yesterday. My SSH was flaky at JFK and I was literally pasting it as we took off; definitely an FAA violation of some sort.
Anyway, the trip to London was nice. I only had managed to charge up about 40 minutes of laptop, so again I looked elsewhere for entertainment. AA was showing Rear Window on one of it's movie channels, so that was fun. I also discussed many things with an Anglican priest on her way to Ghana. She seemed very into the idea of couchsurfing, so maybe the bay area now has an additional couch thanks to me. She also owns a house in the south of France, that's where I'd want to surf.
I had a layover in London; plenty of time to charge my laptop before the hop to Stuttgart, except that I packed my european adapter in my checked bag. I'm looking forward to consolidating back to one bag in Istanbul. Oh, and I think the UK is different anyway.
Also a nice British Airway lady let me go into the BA expedited line.
I've just arrived in Boblingen, a nice little town, where my hosts have been extremely great so far (they have a super-cute 16 month old kid who has a knack for going straight for power buttons on anything electronic, it's uncanny). And best of all, apparently in Stuttgart, Oktoberfest really happens in October, with something called Cannstatt!
So that'll be tonight, I'm very excited. Once again I luck into a major area festival with zero foreknowledge (previous examples: Spoleto, Edinburgh).
I haven't taken any pictures yet, stay posted for those.
