Got kinda backed up on photographs and blogging while I was doing some work on the site, so here's a little mini dump:
Did a little more lightpainting with some hotel lights:
Generally using a flashlight is more fun, but I continue to enjoy
controlled lighting and long exposures in general.
Here's a delicious equation:
MEAT
+
VARIOUS LIQUIDS
=
TASTY
I may have gone a little overboard in trying to replace lard with drinks found around the house.
Then it was down to lincoln city for mother's day:
My grandparents were returning home after seven months staying with
various children. We stopped on the way so my grandmother could visit
with her brother,
who she often speaks with but rarely sees.
Upon arriving, Uncle Tony gathered
some mussels
and in what has become a tradition, cooked
them in some wine
with the usual delicious results.
He picked some good ones, because I found two small pearls in mine!
Unfortunately they disappeared while the table was being cleared, I
wish I had gotten a picture.
Then it was the usual house
repair
and plant
inspection
as we celebrated
whatever mothers we could find
.
It was a very pleasant trip, and my first time taking Amtark from
Seattle to Portland, which was quite nice. I sat with a father and his
two young children- the two-year old girl had a shirt that said "WILL
TRADE BROTHER FOR PONY", but her three-year old brother didn't seem to
mind. They were going to their grandparents' house too.
I think that's enough photos for today, so no portfolio nomination hoy.
