The startup's been thinking more about design recently, and I'm simultaneously starting to get sick of the site colors on casey0 and null-terminated.
So without further ado, I'm gonna put some color combinations that I like here and see if I can find some new inspiration for my CSS files.
1. Green and black/grey
Not sure why I've always loved this combo- living and dead, dark but
hopeful, hued yet fairly neutral, and of course VT100 consoles. My
original null-terminated design (still visibile in the favicon) was
very green and black, with the current one being much more toned down
and earthy.
2. Blue and brown
Earthy and strong, maybe I should add some blue into casey0.
3. Purple"Forum blue" and gold
It doesn't get any more regal than this. The Lakers' colors have grown on me to the
point that just seeing them makes me happy. I also like the fact that
NYU has purple (violet? or is that just
the mascot?) as one if its colors.
4. Green and orange
As long as I'm doing very distinctive combos I was introduced to
through loyalty, here are the Thacher
contributions. Now those are colors easy to spot at a multi-team
tournament.
5. Blue and dark white
I've always been partial to white on blue for my terminals- I think it
goes back to my Wordperfect days. In fact, maybe Wordstar and/or
VT100s are why I like black and green, hmmm... I better go back up
there and add that.
6. Pastel blue and brown
Does this count as a different one? I might just be spinning my wheels
here.
7. Red and black/grey
I must be getting bored, I should stop now. Oh, MIT colors I guess.
I'm a little surprised- despite picking colors from the complete palette, not only was everything I picked expressable with the three-digit hex notation (#RGB), but the only values I used for R, G, or B were 0, 3, 6, 9, and F. Talk about limited.
I wonder if I could generate colors I like using that pattern... ugh,
I just tried it and there are some bad colors in there.
