A quick followup to my last post.

Casey Fallen came by and left this comment using my abysmal commenting system:

It has taken over 2 years to get where I am, working 18 hours a day 7 days a week. My personal information, like my last name is kept private for good reason. # 1 reason, Stalkers. My Album is available at all major retail stores 2400 to be exact, i.e. Towerrecords, i-tunes, Yahoo music, ect, ect. I would appreciate you not giving out private information on me on a public forum like this. I know that copyright information is public domain. But, most people are not aware of this. I have no idea what you are trying to say about my photo's? They are photo's taken through out the last 2 years and as a recording artist my image is going to change frequently. Also. There are several guesses at my age posted everywhere. So take a guess. I don't think anyone is going to mix us up, so I really have no idea what this BLOG is really about. First of, it's always a pleasure to hear from another Casey Muller, and I'm happy to help in any way. I totally understand not wanting Fallen connected with Muller, and that's my preference as well.

The problem is the CD Baby site, which has both names on it. It's currently the seventh result searching for "Casey Muller", and the fourth result for "Casey Fallen".

So people thinking of hiring me may listen to the music on that page and think it's mine, especially because of the same hometown and similiar ages listed on myspace.

Conversely, a new fan looking for Casey Fallen sites may see that and then end up here (which also exists at caseymuller.com) and think Fallen is a huge nerd.

I just want to have some place on my site that says "I am not Casey Fallen", and I'm not sure how I can do that without revealing that Casey Fallen's real name is Casey Muller.

The easiest solution is probably to get CD Baby to change their site.

I'm not sure if copyrights have to be public- perhaps it would be possible to incorporate as Casey Fallen, inc and assign the copyrights to that entity. A lawyer would know.

Lastly, I didn't mean to disparage BMI or the Casey Fallen photographs- it's just that on myspace the "record label" field says "Independent" but the bio says BMI, so I didn't know which was right. And I just meant that people could probably tell us apart from the pictures.
